Operation Write Home

Our Stampin Up Team Canada group has started creating cards to send to deployed service members to send back to their families, and I'm taking part. The first package is going out in September with Christmas, birthday, and just because cards. If you'd like to take part and make some cards, get in touch with me and we can set up a date for you to use any of my supplies and tools to create some cards!

Workshops, Classes, Clubs, Oh my!

This all can get very confusing! Hopefully I can clarify a bit as to the wording I use when talking about some of what I do. There are two basic models to my teaching...

First of all, I teach classes. These can be one on one, or for a group. There is a cost to cover materials and the number and complexity of the projects depends on the audience (you!). A series of classes is usually called a club, and there is sometimes other benefits to membership, such as free products.

A workshop is a free to attend gathering, where a hostess invites her friends and reaps the benefits if they choose to buy any supplies. I'll show some of the fabulous Stampin Up products and everyone will make a simple project.

I've also done a hybrid of the two, where anyone at a class who purchases a minimum amount get the class for free. If you have any questions, let me know!

Love & Sympathy

Sympathy cards are hard. Often when we have a need for them it's exactly when we don't want to be creative. I needed one this week and decided to accomplish two goals in one. First I made this card for my friend (CASEd from Bonnie Klass) and then I made an extra envelope so that she could reuse it.

The card and envelope pictured here are from the notecard set, so they're slightly smaller than a regular card. They fit perfectly into a regular sized envelope for mailing though!

I used white shimmer paper (retired unfortunately), and spritzed the flowers with water before stamping to give them a more water colored look.

My Paper Pumpkin card

I just wanted to share a super quick card I made today. And by super quick, I mean SUPER quick. I signed up for My Paper Pumpkin when it first started, and have received every kit. I keep them in a box in my craft room for when I need a quick card and don't have time or energy to be creative and dive into the deep end of making a card. Today was one of those days. A dear friends birthday is coming up, I just got off 21 straight night shifts and have to be on the ferry tonight to help organize a massive event on the weekend.

So I popped open my box and set to work. This is actually the kit from June, which includes the stamps, ink and paper to make four cards. I stuck to the basic design, just swapped out the sentiment. I also added some dimensionals to pop the little hexagons up off the card base. Super easy, super quick, and super cute!

If you'd like to get your own little boxes of crafting goodness, check out My Paper Pumpkin and sign up! Once you've signed up and put me as your demonstrator, give me a shout and I'll send you a free pack of dimensionals. Dimensionals are a great, economical way to step up the kits and make them your own.
