Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop: Spring Fever

Welcome to the February Wacky Watercooler blog hop! This month it's all about spring, and the Watercooler ladies have done a fabulous job making us all feel like it's warming up and becoming colourful out there.

If you haven't seen a blog hop before, you can click along the "previous" and "next" buttons at the bottom of this post to see more projects, eventually you'll come back here full circle. If you've followed along, you probably came from Deborah's blog, and will continue on to Marsha's after this. You can also head back to the main page at any time for a full list of participants.

My three projects start of with a CASE of Gail's wonderful project. Triple time stamping isn't a technique I usually use, so this was a challenge for me! I love the way it turned out, and Of course the chance to use my Blendabilities too!

Next up, I made this wreath using the Build a Blossom kit. The kit makes five of each of these flowers (well 15 of the pansies, but there's technically three to a stem of them). I took one of each and attached it to this wreath. I then made a bunch more to give away to special people in my life! The photo didn't turn out great, unfortunately the whole thing didn't fit in my light box, but you get the idea.

Last but not least, I used a pack of note cards to make a set of cards to give away as a gift. Everyone can always use thank you cards, and by using the pre-coordinated In Colours and a free stamp set I got during Sale-A-Bration, this set came together in no time!

So now it's time to hop along and check out everyone else's great work! Enjoy!

Creative Blog Hop

So Susan Horr nominated me for this blog hop. Unfortunately I didn't find anyone to nominate, so it's a bit of a dead end here.

I chose to share this project because it's a little out of my usual (other than the stamp set) and frankly, it's what I had ready. This is a birthday card for one of my paramedic-y friends, and it's a total CASE from Tanya.

What are you working on now?
I'm working on a pile of cards for a market next weekend. It's my first one in a while and I had nothing prepared when I signed up to do it a little more than a week before. So I'm doing lots of simple and lots of CASEing right now!

How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I'm a little OCD so my work is usually very precise. Everything even, everything measured. My upline commented one day that she didn't like layers all being the same width of mat, so now I can't stand that either :P My club members can attest that it always bugs me a little when something isn't "just so" and they like to drive me batty by making their projects a little of kilter once in a while (on purpose obviously).

Why do your create what you do?
It gets my hands working and my mind thinking about things other than work.

How does your creative process work?
I usually get an idea from Pinterest or somewhere. I don't always necessarily CASE it outright, but I'll often take inspiration on colour combinations, layouts, or even just a combination of elements, and work from there.

Happy Happy Happy

So I've been wanting to do this for a while and today it's finally happening! I'm going to be running a free card making class for those new to card making! It's available for anyone who's never been to one of my classes before, and this after noon is the first one. I'm hoping to run another one in a few weeks, but for now, here's the card we'll be making today...

Valentine's Mayhem

We had a fantastic time on Monday putting together our Paper Pumpkin kits! I had a sudden flash of inspiration and made this card, which I'm still totally in love with. I used the stamps from the kit, and some extra card stock I had lying around. As a bonus, this card is perfect for the Watercooler Challenge this week, which I was too slow to join the main post for.

Don't forget you can get a discount and a free Sale-A-Bration item when you pre pay for 3 months of Paper Pumpkin before March 31st. Come join us next month for more Paper Pumpkin fun!
